One of my interests is keeping up with current news events so I go to MSNBC or my local newspaper, Pantagraph, every day for alot of good information!
There was a shocking article I read this morning regarding the United Nations saying nearly 17 million people in the horn of Africa urgently need food as drought, soaring food prices and conflict make it increasingly difficult for the region. The 17 million is almost doubled from 9 million in early 2008! If donors don't provide $716 million soon, there could be a famine as in the 80's and 90's. Please take the time to read the article here.
